Vehicle Inspections & Health Checks

Our Vehicle Health Check (VHC) is a technician-led inspection of your car's safety-critical systems — brakes, tyres, steering, suspension, lights, fluids and battery. Instead of a vague 'all fine, guv', you receive a clear digital report where every item is colour-coded: green for healthy, amber for watch and budget for soon, red for needs attention now. Each amber and red item comes with photos or video evidence and an honest price to fix it — approve the work with one tap or decline it, no pressure, no obligation.

  • Digital report by text & email — printable PDF copy too
  • One-tap approve or decline, nothing done without your OK

Every visit includes

  • Brakes: pad depth, disc condition and measured readings
  • Tyres: tread depth, pressures, age and sidewall condition
  • Steering, suspension and wheel bearings checked on the ramp
  • Exhaust, mounts and underbody corrosion inspection
  • Lights, wipers, horn and visibility items

Why this matters

Nothing gets done without your approval. Every amber and red item in your report carries photo or video evidence and a fixed price, so you can see exactly what we see — and decide what's worth doing now, what can wait, and what can wait even longer.

How we do it

Our process, step by step

  1. 1Book a vehicle inspection online or by phone — courtesy car available on request
  2. 2A technician checks over the vehicle on our ramp, photographing and filming as they go
  3. 3Every item is graded green, amber or red in your report
  4. 4You receive the full report by text and email — with a walk-around video and photo evidence
  5. 5Approve the work you want with one tap, or take the report away and decide later
  6. 6Any work you approve is quoted exactly as shown in the report — no surprise extras

FAQs

Vehicle Inspections — common questions

What is a vehicle health check (VHC)?
A VHC is a structured inspection of your car's safety-critical systems by one of our technicians. Every item is graded with a traffic light colour — green means healthy, amber means worth watching and budgeting for, red means it needs attention for safety or legal reasons. You get photos, a walk-around video and a price to fix anything that isn't green.
What do the traffic light colours mean?
Green: everything is as it should be — no action needed. Amber: the item is starting to wear or will need attention within the next few months; it's safe today, but budget for it. Red: the item has failed or is unsafe/illegal — we recommend fixing it before you drive far. We never pressure you; the evidence and the price are in front of you, and the decision is yours.
How do I receive my report?
Straight to your phone. You get a text and an email with a link to your personal report page — including the technician's summary, the walk-around video, photos of anything flagged and an itemised price for each recommendation. You can also download or print it as a PDF. If you'd rather have paper, we can print a copy at the workshop.
Is the inspection free?
A health check is included free with every service or MOT. You can also book a standalone vehicle inspection — for example before buying a used car, before a long trip, or if something doesn't feel right — priced on request.
Do I have to have the work done with you?
No. The report is yours regardless. You're welcome to take it elsewhere, fix items yourself, or spread the cost over 3 or 6 months with a payment plan — whatever suits you.
