Servicing & MOT

Same-Day MOT Testing

We book your MOT through a fully independent, DVSA-approved third-party testing station — completely separate from our workshop. Because they don't benefit from any repairs, there is zero incentive to pass or fail your car unfairly. You get an honest, impartial MOT result, and if any work is needed we quote it separately at Southern VSR so you always know exactly what you're paying for.

Why this matters

The MOT test is carried out by a separate, DVSA-approved station that has no financial link to our repairs. That separation is deliberate — it removes any incentive for the tester to fail your car so we can do the work. It is how we keep MOTs completely honest.

FAQs

Same-Day MOT — common questions

Why do you use a third-party MOT station instead of testing in-house?
We deliberately use an independent DVSA-approved MOT station so the tester has no financial link to our workshop. That way there is zero incentive to fail your car to sell you repairs — the MOT result is completely impartial, and any work needed is quoted separately by us.
How much does an MOT cost?
The DVSA maximum fee for a Class 4 MOT is £54.85 and we do not add any markup on top of the test fee itself.
How early can I MOT my car?
You can MOT your car up to 1 month (minus a day) before it expires and keep the same renewal date. We'll remind you automatically by SMS and email 30 days before expiry.
